Covid19 Let's move on. It's over. 4 Years, 6 Months ago
Covid19 - moving on. Now the stupid PanicDemic is over, it's time for the music and entertainment industries to plan ahead. Do not "cancel Glastonbury". Madness. By then we'll all be back to normal (NOT the "new normal" another stupid media hype). Do not cancel tours. If I was younger and still in the industry I'd start planning huge, enormous music festivals starting in June; probably one a week (Saturday all day gigs outdoor); a dance day & night; a rock night; a pop night; a rap/hiphop night; a classics night (for us elderly survivors). Fuck Covid. Let's move ahead.

I agree JK - let us decide what to do with our bodies not the government or media. No one forces you to do go to a gig or cinema.

Absolutely. Move on now when all the most vulnerable have been jabbed. Enough is enough. People can make their own decisions about the risks and their own bodies. Stop the lockdown horror show; collateral-deniers shut up quoting global death figures like moronic fucking parrots and go get a life!

odd, all the other recent virus threats, people basically complied with recommended measures and they ran their courses and died out..Bird Flu, Sars, AIDs and the original Spanish Flu.
But they didn't have Social Media to contend with. The rapid rise of Social Media has had such an amazing (and destructive ?) impact on the world.
There were endless odd theories about AIDs but they never got traction in the vast populace.
Social Media has given everyone including the Mad, Bad & Insane and malicious the ability to preach to the world and create entire fantasies which 100,000s (perhaps multi-millions) believe.
I've recently taken to Clapper. ( momentarily I think as It will bore me after a while)
The number of MAGA fans (decked out in their MAGA gear..did Trump get licensing deals on that?) who genuinely believe Trump is still running government & Biden is about to be arrested shortly is so bizarre.
But there has to be something in the fact the USA & UK have the worst percentage of Covid deaths.. 2 leaders who basically avoided reality until the last moment.

If you are trying to map fatalities with lockdown speeds Hedda you will fail. There are so many variables, and international comparisons show no correlation between the two things. There are countries that did not lockdown at all and have done far better than both in protecting citizens. It is just too simple an explanation. But we do need to understand why the UK has protected its citizens the least in the world, yes.

I think it's crucial to remember that the five worst countries by far for Deaths to Cases ratio when the virus started were UK/France/Spain/Italy & Belgium. 25% plus of cases ended with death. Everywhere else has been under 5% including the USA, Brazil and others with huge populations. NOW the death rate is even lower everywhere (though you wouldn't know it from media coverage). Millions die every year globally; the millions in 2020 will be no more than in 2019 or 2021.

Yes it is not worth even arguing comparative responses. Responses to what? A normal death rate. Big deal. A collective insanity has swept the globe. Covid deniers? No. Let's start in 2021 judging lockdown defenders as "collateral-deniers" (i.e lockdown collateral damage, to put it politely and euphemistically).

When the G7 meet in the Summer, no doubt they have something planned like higher taxes, more masks and Great Reset and more social distancing. ( which bit the social part ? )
