Sir Captain Tom Moore came across as a lovely old bloke with his suit jacket
a'glistening with medals etc.
Not sure why people who do things for charity deserve such undying praise though. 1000s do things for charity every day but never get a gong.
There were of course 10,000s of Tom Moore's from WW2 over the decades who gradually died off (most never reaching that great age of 100) who never ever got a mention except as a "collective" in those wreath laying ceremonies.
But Tom was the classic example of
JK's "Good Story".
He embodied that
British Spirit of Greatness that saw it loot and pillage half the world for a few 100 years and flourish with the Slave Trade by selling Black people to anyone who would pay. And freeing the world of the Nazi tyranny as no other country fought like the British (

)
Britain got back that British Spirit &
Sovereignty with
Brexit because we know
Johnny Foreigner could
never be so successful at doing these things.
At least Tom didn't die of
Covid, rather old age or gout or something.
