TOPIC: Superbowl
#205632
Superbowl 4 Years, 6 Months ago
I'm not a fan of either team but will be rooting for Tampa, the underdogs, as Tom Brady is 43 and we Oldies need to stick together. Hot dogs and beer ready to go. Party fully organised (only me in this strange year). I do like the BBC team - Dan is good and his two colour guys are fabulous; better than most US commentators (both are ex players with loads of charm). And one was a Giant (I support NY teams plus the Denver Broncos who I interviewed for Entertainment USA).

At the game in the Raymond James Stadium will be 30,000 cardboard cut outs and 25,000 human fans.

Vaccinated care workers will makeup 7,500 of the fans - and positive covid vibes will be a feature of the event.

Entertainment events can easily be forgotten - rock concerts, cup finals, Wimbledons etc. But you'll never forget your live Super Bowl(s). Four hours of magic and wonder - around a 60 minute game, a breathtaking half-time, hotdogs and Bud.

It's fun when you're betting on the game Wyot.

The "positive covid vibes" just made me smile Piedmont. But I am actually intending to watch it. I do love sport and have never watched an American Football game...

Fans will be given PPE kits on arrival at the stadium - and bars and restaurants are open and extremely busy in the Tampa surrounds; Tampa are the SB's first ever home team. On Sunday, the US will consume 1.42 billion chicken wings and a 30 second TV ad costs $5.5 million during the game. Even though some aspects are curtailed, like the attendance, Super Bowl 55 is expected to break viewing and other records.

One of the most off-putting things about American Football is the totally unlimited number of substitutions allowed; the only relevant rule is that only 11 players can be on the field, at any time.

So platoons of offensive and defensive players, as well as specialist ones (such as kickers) are ready to join the game at any time. And even to leave and return - but only when the ball is dead.
