The blind acceptance that women making accusations are being truthful is so destructive.

Blokes not so much: note how Kevin Spacey's main accuser turned out to be an opportunist liar yet it seems a wonderful actor has had his career destroyed on..no charges, no conviction.

# I just love the idea of this film..awaiting it

Brett Ratner’s Milli Vanilli Film Dropped by Avi Lerner’s Millennium Media

In a statement on Feb. 20, Time’s Up said that Ratner should not be granted a comeback in the industry.

“TIME’S UP was born out of the national reckoning on workplace sexual harassment,” said Tina Tchen, president and CEO of the Time’s Up Foundation in response to the news. “Our movement is a product of countless courageous acts by many survivors, including those who spoke out about what they endured at the hands of Brett Ratner.”

Yes I agree this "cancel culture" is tiresome; even when someone has been found guilty!

On the specifics of this case though I won't be losing sleep that a documentary on Milli Vanilla will no longer see the light of day...

Warner Bros apparently severed ties with him too, according to the last sentence of the first article below.

I suppose it's natural to believe people when they claim to be victims of crime, especially if they don't appear to be seeking compensation (can't find references to that online), but maybe the women in this case just didn't get that far. Many wouldn't doubt them even then and would probably think they were entitled to it.

When I saw the "Other side of Jimmy Savile", it didn't even cross my mind that the women might not be telling the truth, since it was a documentary on mainstream TV (though I did wonder where MWT had sprung from, as I hadn't seen him before). It wasn't until I came across Anna Raccoon's blog that doubt set in.

Maybe some one could do biopic of Baltimora - the song Tarzan Boy and Woodie Boogie even got me dancing on the dance floor several times.

Barney, I fully agree with you about Jo's posts, she always provides good clear explanations and background.

However... I really wish that you would stop rating our posts. it is not your forum, and you are not our form teacher.

The board owner is well capable of deciding whether posts should be seen - as I know, from personal experience!

True. He is a very patient man.

Do you have an idea when you are due to be vaccinated yet?

So you are a bell end Barney?

I actually had to Google Brett Ratner's films, I saw one of his movies and that was Rush Hour on VHS, I threw it in the recycle bin after sitting through that.

None, 2022 probably. Too young - and to complicate matters even more - I have three arms.

Why do you need a vaccine if you already had covid, you still have to wear a mask afterwards ?

Who has had it? Me? I have been (unwillingly) diagnosed with it after the event. Whether I actually had it is a different matter.
I cant imagine anyone bothering with masks once we are all done. Can you?

Many people are now conditioned to and reliant on all the repression and rules. It takes away all responsibility and gives a fake sense of security and safety.

For those who were anxious about life rather than just living it; there have been lots of positives. And the nervous paranoids will wear masks for good now; but at least we can see them coming and avoid going for a pint with the bores...
