LGBT residence 3 Years, 1 Month ago
I am genuinely mystified as to why this is considered a goood idea or use of tax payers' money:

amp.independent.ie/world-news/and-finall...tter_impression=true

If I was LGBT I wouldn't want to be squirrelled away in one residential block. How boring. I like to meet a variety of people.

Most people don't give a shit about sexuality these days; so what is the purpose? Also, is there a danger such exceptionalism will incite envy and anger against LGBT people?

Still I'm sure it ticked some diversity box somewhere and never occured to anyone that it is the opposie of diverse...

It must be for rampant swingers. Otherwise what would be the point?

This this the most woke thing thing so far I have heard.

No one cares what gender or sexuality you are. From my experience Wyot people who are LGBT have love spending on their events and throw money like a customer at a strip club.

I can’t imagine many people moving in, as you said it will be boring. They like going out meeting people even lesbians go to straight bars without a problem.

I am told by friends that if you require sex action in London the internet is handy and you don't need to live in "specialist housing" to meet like-minded people.

No the answer for this scheme must lie elsewhere...

A friend of mine considered investing in one decades ago.

He wanted to call it the BeBopAlula Retirement Home for Friends of Dorothy, Diesel Dikes and Desperate Old Drag Queens.

After research he found most of the potential customers couldn't stand each other let alone live in a gated community of the like-minded because..well they simply weren't like minded and were as diverse as the rest of society.

Then he dreaded the idea of a bunch of LGBT with dementia living in one building !

## I can't see this getting off the ground. He just should be looking to providing more support for the elderly to stay in their own homes which is what most people want.

## The pic below is from the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras. It happens again this Saturday but rather than snake up Oxford Street (which once had about 20 gay bars, hotels & nightclubs on it- all now vanished) it's in a nearby arena , the Sydney cricket Ground. Sounds horrendous..paying to watch some tacky old float pass by with a bunch of screeching queens on exstasy. It's always been fun trashy but on the street it worked.

### crowds of about 500,000 used to line Oxford Street for the parade and oddly, 100,000s seemed to be Asian.

#### Political Correctness Strikes: The Dykes on Bykes pic below..they used to be topless..about 100 dykes on Harleys. My lovely paparazzi pal who died a few years ago used to make a small fortune just from pics of topless dykes..enough to pay for a nice holiday every year back to Wales to see his family. Now they cover up.

##### I used to do quite well with my Box Brownie when I covered a few of the Mardi Gras and seemed to find Slebs no-one else did..the 2 Men Behaving Badly actors, Billy Connolly, Rupert Everett etc..naturally I posed them bunches of drag queens and the UK tabloids loved it.

I know the lockdown has closed pubs etc but with the right networking that's not in the internet you can get the sam action. I heard Grindr and Tinder have a had a massive boost since last year.

I am waiting for Khan to build this "gay complex" then moan there's no more money to police it.

I look forward to the "white only" and "straight only" retirement homes.
I wonder how far they will get with those?

It would be called "Far left" and torched to the ground.

Diversity now means no white and straight are welcome.

If only people would just stop thinking in any way at all about who people like to sleep with or what colour they are, we could get rid of racism, homophobia and wokeism. Just forget it all; chill...

I now see it is actually a building and not a "retirement" home.

How do prospective tenants prove they are gay or LGBT? And what is the criteria for selecting who is worthy of an apartment?
Surely they have them.

It seems rather odd. Why does any LGBT person deserve priority over an non LGBT person (unless they can show they have been discriminated against)

# I recall about 40 years ago a person I knew wanted to get a council flat. He borrowed 2 young black kiddies from a lady pal and took them to the housing office and claimed their mother had died and he had to look after them. It was accepted at face value and he scored a flat in Willesden.

Hedda we have in the UK now unburdened ourselves of reality in favour of self identity.

I am a heterosexual male but if I identify as a lesbian male (which I am considering for career reasons...) this must be accepted by the authorities. The application of "criteria" would be illegal.

I don't know how far down the path of enlightenment you are in Aus but I hope that - if you have not quite reached our state of perfect self efficacy - you are not far behind.

Morgan Freeman once said I stop calling you a white man if you stop calling me a black man or something like that.

Paramount gave Eddie Murphy a list of 3 white actors he had to hire one for the sequel Coming to America.

We all know Arsenio Hall's chat shows flopped.

If they refuse you in a ladies changing room go in to a rage on how homophobic and transphobic the store staff are.

This was in Gamestop but you could try this in a CEX.

they look like lovely flats.

I'm tempted to have gender reassignment even at this late stage if it scores me one.

My late aunt dressed me in drag when I was 14 (I think it was a joke ) when she owned a pub and introduced me to the Licensing Squad coppers as her niece once.

Surely I qualify for a lovely maisonette.

No need to have anything sawn off Hedda. Just tell them you are gay!

This is worth a read. The Youth Hostels Association or whatever they call themselves these days is falling over itself to welcome 'transgender guests' and never mind that many women don't want to share a dormitory with an intact male. So this woman identified as a male for a day and stayed the night in a male dorm at Inverness Youth Hostel.

She said: “It was very strange. I am obviously a woman, the receptionist knew I was a woman, everyone in the queue behind me knew I was a woman.

“Yet no-one would state the obvious because I uttered the words ‘self-identify’.

I was contemplating that I might attend the Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras in Sydney tonight but driving into the city I saw 100s and 100s of huge lesbians in short shorts wandering about so I changed my mind.

## Nothing against Lesbians large or little but I never knew Sydney had so many. Of the large type.

### I drove through an area of numerous blocks of tall council flats from which these Lesbians were emerging en masse. I wonder if they got a flat at a knock down price because they are lesbians? I think we should be told.

Can I be a lesbian or at least female and use the women's changing rooms or go to a women's refuge ? If not you're all homophobic and transphobic.
