HAHAHA ! Dublin is not big Wyot - also did you get hassled by both English and Irish after the gig ?
I only ever saw The Pogues in London GM and it was always the drunkest but friendliest atmosphere going; despite Macgowan's sometimes slurred & silly efforts to stoke Fenian fires....
I did see Macgowan with The Popes at the now defunct Eastleigh Music Festival, which from memory had headliners Will Young Fri night, The Popes Sat night and Dione Warwick Sun night!
It ran on a recreation park there for just under 10 years and despite big names just kept on losing ticket sales year on year. Shame. It was an eclectic (probably too eclectic) fun festival a 10 min walk from the train station.
GM/anyone - if interested in the Irish music scene 10pm bbc 4 tonight screening new (2020) doc on Shane Macgowan filmed by Julien Temple. Very strong reviews.

Thank you Wyot.
My favoueite Irish band Clannad superb band live also, probably the most expensive I spent on a gig £44, Status Quo were shit live and wasted £33 on it.
