Amazon 4 Years, 3 Months ago
I know all the criticism but I find Amazon nearly always excellent; ordered something yesterday (Sunday) evening; it arrived today (Bank Holiday Monday) before 12.00. Fantastic.

Good service. But unacceptable accounting practices that totally bypass fairness.

Amazon is legally reducing it's tax burden what's the problem? Blame the Governments that allow it to happen if you wish. They don't wish to stop it, whatever they may say.

Absolutely WYOT - again, it's media. Exaggerate to get "a good story". I think it is everyone's duty to pay as little tax as legally allowed. It is also up to them to decide how much of their profits to give to worthy causes. Talking of which - sad news about the Gates who strike me as good people.

High Street retail suffers badly during pandemic.

Online sales dramatically increase at the same time.

Tax is paid on the High Street, not by online vendors.

And the only proposed action is by Joe Biden!

If someone wants to keep high street shops going they should give online shops a miss.
No point moaning when you have done nothing to stop it.

What does Joe Biden have to do with it, Barney? Did I miss something?

The village butcher and fishmonger did well until the High Street came along...

Pay what you legally have to; given the billions thoughtlessly wasted by our Gov last year the less they have of my money the better. I can give to charity if I wish to help the less fortunate.

It is interesting that the few times recently I have been into my local shopping centre it has been pretty quiet. I don't know if people are scared still or have changed shopping habits more long term during the panicdemic...

Yes sad about The Gates and they have done incalculable good. Least it will be a grown up separation...Hopefully they will keep working their Foundation together.

'No company making billions in profits should pay a lower tax rate than firefighters and teachers'....Joe Biden

The majority would agree even if laws aren't broken

Thank you.

Yes, he is absolutely right. You cant blame the firms for taking advantage though.

I wonder why this was allowed to happen in the first place?
Did "they" have a reason to encourage this sort of business and close down high streets?

The majority would agree even if they don't know it.
