TOPIC: Police Commissioner in Surrey
#208579
Police Commissioner in Surrey 4 Years, 3 Months ago
Well, who knows how it will go. Munro dismally failed to investigate Surrey Police when I made my first complaint to him in 2017. He failed to resign (unlike then Chief Constable Ephgrave) when I was cleared of all charges in 2018. He ignored the independent reviews of Surrey Police behaviour by Hydrant and the IOPC.

Whoever gets the job can only do better. If Munro succeeds I shall come down on him like a ton of bricks. Whoever takes the gig needs NOT to abuse the public's trust by letting Surrey Police "get away with it".

We won. Munro out. Surrey residents decided they did not want their front doors broken in, dragged out of bed with search warrants obtained by lies on oath. They don't like innocent men and women being killed. They don't want incompetent or bent coppers.

I wish they would abolish the role of the PCC altogether; just adds to the politicisation of the Police. And there are bodies that hold checks and balances against the Police already. Why would we want a PCC bringing political agendas in. Just do more stopping of real crime. Simple!

It was a stupid Theresa May idea; she was as bad a Home Secretary as she was PM. Nobody with working brain cells wants to be Home Secretary and most have been disasters.

Interestingly (to me anyway...!) Surrey has bucked the national trend and seen a big reduction in Conservative council control - to Lib Dems mainly. The stockbroker belt is revolting! I like to think we can see through the Covid debacle a little sharper in Surrey...

It hasn't affected Surrey nearly as badly as elsewhere though, has it? So people are bound to be more annoyed at nonsense restrictions that are no benefit to them.
It is frustrating enough here in Covid-Spittle village.

Yes you are probably correct Honey and we have never felt any particularly personal risk around here. I have heard of one person dying, a few who have had it and just shaken it off. It probably has coloured my views; but I'm still right when you analyse the data (of course!)
