9,000 reservists have been called up by Israel and troops are assembling at the Gazza border, with ground assaults likely. Neither side is backing down.

A very uneven fight between Arab and Jew, with only one winner - those with the F15/16's. Egypt, Qatar and the UN are now the only hope - for bringing about peace.

Yes it's a bit like the Nazis vs the Jews, isn't it?

No doubt with fighting talk about the Northern Ireland Protocol and Brexit - which has adversely affected NI, more than anywhere else in the UK.

Well I didn't say that at all did I? I was being rueful about the strangeness of a world in which a "peace envoy" also arms one side of a conflict they are supposed to be bringing peace to. Could equally apply to a war between Martians & Venusians.

Four months into his presidency, Biden has yet to announce the anticipated changes in US policy on Israel and the conflict/region.

Trump increased US wholehearted support for Israel during his four years in office - whilst Biden has preferred a two state solution.

Many hope a more balanced US position will bring about a permanent peace between the Israels and Palestinians - and also for the Middle East.

Rather a quandary for Catholic Joe Biden
