Guardian write more bollocks, I am 5'6 with socks on, getting stuff from the topshelf in supermarkets is a chore but I fucking manage. I simply ask a taller person and laugh it off or ask an old lady to borrow her walking stick.

In my youth I had to ask the newsagents for the top shelf mags for my mates who were too shy to buy them. Maybe I am thick skinned and can actually laugh at myself and do banter without being offended or without being scared to offend.

I found that mobile phone buttons are too small for me but okay for my lady friends.

I'm 5'7" which was the same height as Kirk Douglas who i worked with for 2 months.

I've been backing away from Tom Cruise on a red carpet and even with his shoe lifts- he was my height.

Top shelf- get one of those extending hand thingy things from Aldi or similar. It's great for getting high things and things off the floor.

When I was buying mine my Russian cousin was getting one because he goes Dumpster Diving & swears blind he retrieves slabs of Salmon with it each night.

He's worth an absolute fortune & eats out of trash cans. Most people from Russia are odd.
