Only it isn't, because the high infection rate stretches down the coast as far as Bootle and includes one of the most deprived areas in the whole country!

The difference is that there are virtually no black people, Pakistani people, Indian people or any other group of people who don't want the vaccine (as is their right) so there is an extremely high take up, and also an older population.
We could SEE that the vaccine was working against "Indian variant".

Why not just say why, instead of making out the other places are poorer?

Yes let's pretend Covid is an equal opps virus and let many people die. Some cultures are more supersticious and less educated than others. They won't take the vaccine and more of them will die. I know we disagree a bit on this one Honey, but the evidence is clear that significant excess weight is a major factor behind the UK death rate. If we wanted to save lives we should have been shouting about this since March 20. Instead we focused on pointless masks and bloody elbow bumping...

Well, I do agree that help could have been made available to those who asked for it, and there was no need to actually create the problem by stopping people from exercising and forcing them towards junk food.

I think we look too often to the State for help. This is yet another example of people not feeling they can tell people the truth because it would not be treating everyone as if they are the same. We can't deal with the truth anymore and people died as a result.

Yes if weight had been on the agenda relentlessly from the start this may have been counter productive for some but for many others it may have been what was needed.

But for heavens sake give people the info clearly and directly and let them decide. This relentless infantilism is leading to a nation full of the helpless entitled.

You know I wouldn't have shut gyms & pool; but people can just go for a walk and it wasn't mandatory to eat junk food because takeaways remained open.
