Fargo 4 Years, 1 Month ago
I see Fargo - one of the all time great films - is rereleased today (25th anniversary). Please, if you never saw it, do. Apart from being highly original it was the first time I saw the legend that is now Frances McDormand. I believe she then married one of the Coen brothers. Oops no that was after Blood Simple - another brilliant movie.

I love that film, one of my favourites too. It's the Cohen brothers film I like the best. So many aspects to it. The first time I saw it I watched it as a thriller ("based on a true story" ), only on subsequent watchings appreciated the humour. I think it's a great black (very black!) comedy and the cast is fabulous. The interview with the Cohen brothers on the DVD made me appreciate even more how clever they were.

Just rewatched it (Amazon rental is great); a truly different and ground breaking movie.

William H Macey was the ringer in this movie. Playing a nondescript coward who would do anything to better his status in a small society. WHM made this great blend of actors and twin-city perceived logic, into a something unforgettable. A birdseye view into prevailing middle America life.
