Two reasons. Over Reacting. And Falling for media hype (latest example - half a dozen deaths were people after TWO doses of vaccines - who caught Covid before the second dose and were, anyway, close to death). Really; the media irresponsibility since WUHAN has been absurd (and will have killed several media outlets due to sports advert revenue disappearing). For God's Sake gullible public and stupid governments - see the reality, not the hype.

Understandable, of course, since all elected politicians depend on media.

Yet more proof that democracy does not work. Feed the voters with rubbish; they will vote for liars.

This isn't a delay and they should stop calling it such. It is a fluctuation in a further year of restrictions and lockdowns. With SAGE running the shop; media hyperbolising every word and politicians (with a majority in the country still supporting them) going along with it because they think it makes them popular (as incredibly it seems to).

From a point in Feb 20 when restrictions of our human rights were not taken lightly; they are now used with political abandon. I feel so pessimistic now about the situation. Vaccines are not enough for the mad majority.
