SA variant & media hype 4 Years, 1 Month ago
|
|
Remember back in Feb when we were being terrified by a deadly, highly infectious South African variant? There was "surge testing" in my neck of the woods - Surrey. The results have been published today (4 months later for some reason).
From 22k returned tests in Surrey 1 case of the highly infectious variant was found.
It was never here at all; please do think on this all those still believing the plague is about to arrive; named after one country or another.
I expect this will lead on BBC news this evening...

I don't know why they keep telling us about the variants when they do nothing about them, or they are trivial.
If they said "There is an Indian variant so we are stopping flights" I could understand it.
One day there will be a deadly variant that escapes the vaccine and we will all be thinking "Oh sod off with your nonstop variants" and ignore them.

The trouble is that stats like these Surrey SA variant ones understandably feed into conspiracy theories.
We need to be able to discern a mild virus like Covid from a deadly one. Sceptics like me will be able to look at the death rates and excess deaths and recognise a new deadly virus for what it is, just as we can see that Covid is no such thing for the same reasons.
Too much guff about Covid will mean too many see a deadly virus as a conspiracy. The conspiracy theorists are as dangerous as the Covid inflaters and hysterics.

It's a game.
Flights will be reduced for the rich and elite. WEF have admitted they want to stop foreign travel.
This is how we will be travelling in the future.

At this point I am beyond caring. A new variant could be making people's limbs fall off in the street for all I care. I will continue to ignore it!
Yes it is beyond tiresome now. I am going to try and stop thinking about, reading about it or posting about it. I intend to ignore any restriction rules so far as I can. I have stopped wearing a mask in shops. I will wear one to get on a plane etc. Zero Covid exposure, for me, is the aim!
Had a very long chat with my daughters who live in NYC. Shops don't care now if you're masked or not and they don't care now if you had a vaccine. Looks and sound promising but give it time the leaders can lockdown when they want to.
Springsteen is now doing his own game of politics -

The Andrew Lloyd Webber bottled it or got a nice brown envelope from his cronies.
