So TV is getting more crap (hasn't been decent for about 20 years IMHO) however if people are becoming more offended, reality stars are tragically topping themselves. Why not just shut down all the stations and go digital ? Reality shows are scripted just like any soap opera - Pawn Stars is a great example, sports get shifted between broadcasters more times than a wife at a swingers party. Soaps are made to get you depressed.

I was surprised watching Corrie a few years ago with a neighbour to see how dark the storylines were getting, Eastenders makes you want to slit your wrists because it is fucking depressing and very stupid storylines. I had to watch it for the pub quizzes I arranged, because everyone likes pop culture questions.

Most people would just leave the fucking area if Albert Square was a real, and Crapston Villas SE69 must be a realistic representation of all the boroughs in London now.

I thoroughly LOATHE wildlife programmes. The sort everyone pretends is the only thing they watch.
The slow whispered delivery of the presenters makes me want to punch them, and animals ripping each other apart is right at the bottom of the list of things I find entertaining.

I'm one of the pretentious ones who annoy you Honey. I agree GM it seems hard to justify the licence fee these days but I am happy to pay it for -

- BBC wildlife
- BBC 4 documentaries on arts, history, science
- Radio 3 - nearly everything!

Oh god yes. I remember watching lots at school and trying to focus was hard, it annoyed me that the crew was badgering animals. Just leave them alone, we don't see sex tapes of the presenters but we do of the animals. I'm sure David Attenborough has fetish.

I've never watched more than a couple of minutes of Eastenders, for exactly those reasons, Green Man.

The only soap I ever got into was Dallas, as it was good for a laugh and the actors didn't seem to be taking it too seriously and looked as if they were enjoying themselves.

I like wildlife programmes (except ones about chimps - too much like humans) as I find them relaxing and informative. Love David Attenborough. A national treasure!

I often wonder what happened to all the cookery programmes. The Food Programme and all the chefs who had their own programmes. Plus things like Ready, Steady Cook or Can't Cook, Won't Cook. It's not as if people have stopped eating.

I was lucky to see Dallas when I was in America. My relatives would call me to because I saw the episodes before them. I remember going to the dentist and he moaned about the infamous shower scene whilst scraping my teeth.

I never been so nervous until that afternoon.
