Racist abuse at players? Forget it. Ignore them. There are so many more interesting, valuable and entertaining stories around the Euros. Why give a few loonies publicity? Really, media should be ashamed of itself (and so should those Celebs only trying to show how decent and noble they are). Bollocks. Simply wipe them out of any media.

Well, it seems that the real story (according to Southgate) is that most of the racist tweets were from foreign accounts.
Who would want to stir up racial tension here, and what for?
No the real story, Honey, is that a few loonies get exaggerated into a vast army by media in order to get a good story. Then gullibles go off on a tangent, especially celebrities wanting press, whether pro or anti. So it inflates (just like stupid Covid) from a trivial variant of a sickness into a massive problem. It isn't. There will always be loonies. Most, in the past, were rightly ignored. We called them "the Green Ink Brigade" - usually postmarked Tunbridge Wells.
Patel criticised for her view on taking the knee as "gesture politics", while her vile & stupid policies on asylum seekers & the CJS go unnoticed by the majority. We talk of 3rd waves & variants when the real story is a paper-thin NHS that can't cope with an upsurge in seasonal respiratory conditions; because no one has an idea how to fund it properly given the population increase, immigration and rise in age of death since the 1950s. We talk of small effects of Brexit (no radishes today in Tesco!) when we should be clarifying just what the strategy is for a post Brexit Britain that can thrive.
We have lost the ability to see what the real issues are. Most think twitter is a template for thinking. So, it is not a "view" unless you are at one end of a 3 sentence act of polarisation or stream of vitriol.
This post is too long and too nuanced for this world; and should be seen as historic role play...
If so, even more reason to ignore it. Totally unimportant - bullies, trolls, racists, sexists, all have existed forever - they will never change; they are brain dead; unimportant. Social media has given many a higher profile than they deserve.

One thing I do find a bit odd is that words on a page, (however vile) seem to be considered more harmful than the actual violence.
