Harry's Bar in Venice where they invented the Bellini (fresh peach juice and champagne - I had two) and their Special Croque Monsieur (cheese; ham; toasted bread). As tasty as ever. Then a walk around the shops (the prices!!!). And a large coffee and ice cream at Florian's in St Mark's Square. Venice no longer in peril but can't say the same for my digestion.

For anyone confused about the weather this summer, in Venice today it is glorious hot sunshine AND pouring rain, at the same time! Beyond me. God is joking.
