Interesting Savile thread 4 Years ago
www.kingofhits.co.uk/component/option,co...mit,20/limitstart,0/

Old threads appear occasionally at the top of the list here and the above one from 2013 popped up this morning about the Savile allegations. Lots of interesting comments, including this one from Chris Retro:

There's a lady I contacted on Twitter after I noticed she had been attempting to reason with Tosspot about JS, explaining that she had been left alone with many times as a child, loved being around him, never saw or experienced him do anything "inapropropriate". TWT came back at her with "are you calling the victims liars?" and promptly blocked her, despite her being both polite and respectful.
She now KNOWS this is a nasty witch hunt based on lies, and is keen both to put her own experiences across and to defend SJS, but is being driven to distraction by the sheer amount of brainwashing going on and what a "closed shop" it is.

I've pointed her in the direction of a few places online were common sense gets an airing and she won't feel "alone", including this forum - and also have drawn her attention to that "Jim Cannot Fix This" blogsite highlighted on here the other day

And another from Under Pressure:

Instead the madness grows ever stronger.

On the day the Yewtree report came out I posted a Facebook update to my friends expressing my anger at how such a tissue of lies was allowed to gain such currency and how I was proud to be a Savile fan still.

One colleague saw this and has complained (anonymously) to my bosses about my "vile" views with the result that next week I have to attend a meeting to explain my point of view so they can decide if I have broken any rules by er, having an opinion which differs from someone else's.

Orwellian much? I'm not sure, but I find it chilling to say the very least.

It was interesting to hear how dissenting voices were being stifled.

The only people from that thread still posting here seem to be JK and, now rarely, hedda. Shame that the others have left.

Yes Jo; every now and then a Spam evades the filter for a few hours; it still doesn't go on but some link themselves to existing old threads and therefore send the thread (without their Spam post) up the date list. They then drop back down when the filter spots them. But I agree; many are worth re-reading. Sadly the reason many posters no longer post is... DEATH! We've been going for 25 years now, remember. Old Age kicks in. Believe it or not - I'm now 76!!!!!

Nice that you're still visiting, hedda.

2012/13 feels very recent to me. Mind you, I think the year 2000 is only a couple of years ago.

MWT still seems to be making TV programmes, judging from his posts on Twitter.

Almost 10 years ago for me, just after 11am 29 October 2011 life changed and never went back to 'normal'

Accidents of birth and all that can throw you real curve balls.

The 10th Anniversary mania has been ongoing for over a year, at the last count, 3 documentaries, 1 film and one drama. Plus odd newspaper stories.

Many requests to film at Woodlands Cemetery have been unceremoniously denied.

The False Allegations Industry has a lot to be responsible for, Amanda. It is no consolation that Karma kicks in eventually, as Max Clifford, Kirk McIntyre and others found in my case. But it is sad - especially when death (which encourages many false accusers - cash without consequences) still continues to affect friends, families and loved ones of the falsely accused. Like Covid - only a good story matters to the media, which rules humanity. As you know, Jimmy was no close friend of mine - I only met him socially once and thought him very nearly a saint, watching him cheer up the miserable at Stoke Mandeville. My message to you is - don't allow it to damage your life or happiness. Remember the good times and know, for certain, wherever JS is, he doesn't care!

Tosspot is suffering and will suffer more. I've not finished with any of them - for the sake of future potential victims. Watch this space. And be prepared to contribute to future crusades.

Lovely message, thank you JK. I'm seeing this 10 year anniversary as a watershed moment, a third failed appeal to The Met (May) and one last project this year.

You're right about everything you say, it has taken over my life and there's only one person that can do anything about it and that's me! I've walked away from Twitter and other social media sites so I'm taking control to keep away from the haters in October.

Thank you again, you've made me smile this morning.

With any luck a book will be coming out in the not too distant future about one of the Yewtree cases. If that happens and if it gets due attention perhaps more people will begin questioning the allegations about Sir Jimmy Savile.

I hope you'll be able to get your side of the story out, Amanda, and won't have to wait too long to do that.

What an extraordinary decade it has been.

Social media, for all it's good points has much to answer for.

So many in the firing line as people still throw all and sundry under the bus.

Watching how it has decimated so many - and I have no idea of the truth but neither do the mob- Cardinal Pell for one enjoying retirement in Rome and seemingly in good cheer which makes me think he must have had great faith and his detractors- none.

Currently I see on Twitter campaigns against a VC winner and yet again, I know nought but the mob joins in and alarmingly some media commentators seem to deliberately post knowing full well libels will flourish. I'm sure it will come back to bite.

And a former Minister of State accused of teenage rape- The Mob knows for sure what happened 20 years ago except they know fuck all.

Currently I see they have in for an 80 year old right wing "shock jock" who broadcasts from his lovely farm for Rupert Murdoch's cable TV. They attack as they know he's gay..but is he? He never married and has never ever discussed his private life and why the hell should he?

But on and on they go claiming he was a schoolteacher and boys were in peril yet now a single one from 40 years ago has come out of the woodwork to accuse an extremely rich media personality.

I had to take a well known doctor to task who should know better, for proclaiming "it's the hypocrisy I object to !"

"and what frigging hypocrisy is that? " I demand..when the man has never ever addressed claims about his sexuality and while we are on it "how about we discuss your sex life in intimate detail and if we don't, surely you are a hypocrite"..of course..answer comes there none.

So many who should know better are in the thrall of the media which turns on sixpence.

Jimmy Savile? met him once probably over 30 years ago in the foyer of Broadcasting House when he came downstairs to collect a Diana Dors record I was promoting.. "anything for Diana" he said (who wouldn't?) and I thought.."you are not your image..just a down to earth bloke who has crafted some corny glittery looks and it's worked so well for you..and why not !"

Savile is probably the decade's example of how the media can spend decades creating someone, building them up and then turning like a snake to decimate.

And the compo of course..never forget the compo
