Olympics 4 Years ago
I used to love watching the Olympics the 1984 still one is still in my head. Yes I have the soundtrack record still

Watching Mark Schultz wrestle was spectacular and Bruce Baumgartner was a beast both deserved to win gold.

However over years it has been spolit by druggies and become pointless. I never got why they were scared to test Linford Christie, it was obvious if you watch his early events he is like a tortoise. Then became a powerhouse, virtually overnight.

Carl Lewis was caught with substances in his system in the late 80s also.

I will never forget Daley Thompson winning gold in the Decathlon in 1984; what drama, what an athlete!

I have suffered watching as much of the opening ceremony as I could bear.
I know other people like it, but crikey that was dull!

I remember seeing his name everywhere he even had a video game.

1984 was a great year.

I had the video game on my commodore 64 GM! I spent hours manipulating a little pulsing icon of Daley over hurdles and hurling discus. Meanwhile the electric guitar that could have made me a star, sat neglected in the corner of my bedroom. Oh 1980s!

I feel your pain, my uncle wanted to be next rock star. I could master the 'cowboy chords' and my singing is awful. I encouraged to up the fiddle but I wasn't living in Texas and Irish folk music can be torture to the ears.
