Of course he wont be able to see his grandchildren, and nor should he, but it struck me that all this publicity is not what I would imagine that someone who sexually abused his daughter (as claimed) would want?

Yes.
According to Lady Colin Campbell in her Youtube thingies, Prince Harry let it be known that this was the reason for Meghan having no contact with her father.
It explains why the Royals accepted Thomas Markle's absence so readily.
Of course, the Duchess might not know anything about this. The information apparently came from Harry, who might have made it up himself, or been told a lie. (Lady C appears to be spot on usually)
It would be a particularly horrible situation for someone to be innocent and accused, without even the prospect of a trial to clear their name.
It would be a risky thing for Thomas Markle to do to embark on a court case if he really had abused Meghan, but if he had H&M would surely fight tooth and nail to prevent him accessing their children. On the other hand, since H&M were prepared to accuse the royal family of racism and indifference to mental health issues in their Oprah interview on what I suspect is pretty flimsy grounds, it's odd that they'd show restraint about Thomas Markle and not be similarly revelatory about him if he really had that history.

Ah, but Thomas Markle doesn't have enough money to extort or blackmail.
My hunch is that Harry will eventually accuse his father of having Diana killed or something.

Thomas will have an 'accident'.
I have wondered if the Markles were all working together, because I think Samantha over-egged the pudding.
