The Golds start coming... 4 Years ago
And it's in the pool! Normally we seem to have to wait for cycling! Mind you i remember that brilliant Greg Rutherford long jump in 2012. Well done brilliant Adam Peaty and superb Tom Daley.

The reason I'm delighted for Peaty is he's a breast stroker. I feel breast stroke is great for so many parts of the body where crawl, back stroke etc put un-natural strain on body parts. Likewise diving seems odd to me - can only be potentially damaging - why do it? But breast stroke puts no strain on any points (running wrecks heels and knees). I have tried to swim for 5 hours a day whenever I'm in the sunshine (I prefer outdoor and don't like salt water swimming). Even now at 76 I manage 2-3 a day. Gives me an appetite; my joints ease up; my muscles begin to revive; my breathing improves; my heart works better; I sleep well at night.

Fabulous shot of Tom Daley's eyes and tears. That snap will earn someone millions. And that final dive was sensational; they really could have been one person.

Tom Dean and Duncan Scott - Gold and Silver in the 200. We really seem to be a swimming nation! Delighted. Far and away the BEST sport! And well done Bermuda - Triathlon always impressive I think. Dear old Deniz Corday would be SOOO delighted.

I had never watched mountain biking before but my goodness didn't our guy do well - it looks like such hard work! Caught up with a lot of it now and really enjoying. I have always enjoyed the fencing but I seem to be a minority as Sports England don't fund it anymore. Our guy funded himself; but went out in the first round...

The swimmers have been great - like the cyclists. These athletes were allowed to continue training during the lockdowns, under exercise concessions.

Our track competitors will also benefit from similar exemptions (covid related) in the UK - which weren't replicated in other countries.

I thought that Tom Daley had already won a few gold medals, judging by the amount of screen time he gets.
