Can I be controversial? Shouldn't the Medal table final results go to the equivalent of medals to population? If that was so, I think Australia would be top with GB second.

We're now FOURTH in the medals table; quite incredible for our tiny, unimportant country. Like we were in music in the 60s and 70s, global giants. When we put our minds to it, we can be incredible. Shame about media and politics!

It's odd being abroad during major sporting events; I always seem to be! I remember being abroad in 2012 and watching all the London events on my laptop. I was here in France when they won the World Cup (or was it the Euros) a few years ago. And this year I was in Italy when they won the Euros. I must be some kind of talisman!

France won the World Cup in 2018 - the Euros in 2000. More French international success is inevitable.

PSG, the main club, is owned by a wealthy country - with unlimited resources.

Qatar is likely to authorise the purchase of Messi very soon, to join Neymar in Paris.

So proud of the GB Team; reflecting everything good about GB - right across the sports spectrum (so easy to concentrate on one area and win several golds). Massive diversity without doing it for the sake of it (stupid MeToo; stupid BLM) - both (all) genders, all skin colours and racial blends (love the skateboarder - part Japanese), all religions and eye colours and faiths. Now all we need is the wonderful Tom Daley to win a solo medal and we can be proud (don't you love his knitting?).

I loved this joke, meant as an insult but actually I regarded it as a compliment from ten years ago. I hope Tom did too.

And how about that Italian squeaking through? Disappointing for us GB's but sensational.

Well Tom Daley won a bronze and came close to beating the two extraordinary Chinese divers. Well done Tom.

Two more GB Golds - the boxer may well be Muslim; the fabulous Choong must have Chinese blood - I absolutely love the Breast British Diversity - because it's basically done without comment - almost as much as the fantastic GB drive. A wonderful Olympics.

The only sport we really have to improve - running. Where is Mo Farah when we need him?

Yes it has been great and my children aee now old enough to be really getting into it. We showed them "super Saturday" highlights yesterday from the London Olympics. Mo & Jessica; wonderful, spine-tingling stuff.
