TOPIC: Climate change
#211477
Climate change 3 Years, 11 Months ago
Of course climate is changing and will continue to do so. Of course our bonkers species needs to change its ways - that's obvious. But I reckon it has less to do with climate change than Mother Nature, the sun and the universe. Obviously - use less fossil fuels. Obviously - stop plastic contamination. But most of all; anticipate and change. Do not live in dangerous areas. But humanity, like those loonies who live in California, are aware of the madness. Just like those who smoke and drink.

The Thames Flood Barrier is a good example of anticipation. More of that kind of thinking. Less of stupid marches saying cows should stop farting.

The aspect I object to is putting it on us. Deal with the tiny few super wealthy who own corporations that are driving the climate and environmental damage. Don't pretend we can influence anything if the big issues aren't addressed. It is just patronising obfuscation; like "clap the NHS" - no, fucking well fund it properly and stop treating us like idiots; though, to be fair, the majority of us do seem to be.

Still, I shall try and fart no more than 3 times today. Let no one suggest Wyot did not do his bit...

That sailboat that carried Greta Thunberg across the Atlantic in 2019 may have been carbon-free but not entirely green. Even solar panels are not as eco-friendly as they are made out to be.
