In UK schools they only do netball, football and rugby anything else is done outside of school in leisure centre's at a cost.

Schools in USA have a bigger variety and they cater for almost anyone. Want to take up ice hockey instead of field hockey they have got you covered. They even do league bowling if you don't want to run around a track and field.

NCAA could lead you to the pros and it generates a lot of income with global telecast rights. College football is popular with fans of all ages.

Football fans like to who who could be in the NFL in the next few years not forgetting watching their family members play.

You either weren't educated here or went to an underacheiving school, sportswise.

Mine (not remotely posh) had swimming, cricket and athletics too. Boxers would also be catered for.

Some of these activities weren't on site. But we loved getting out to see the world.

The man in the pool knew our names. No wonder the Olympics is such a seismic event.

It mirrors every early competitive urge we, as children had, and gave us our dreams - and future.

Cricket was never taught, boxing was non existent and we didn't have a swimming pool or went to swimming bath or boxing gym.

I tried cricket for a pub team and it was more boring than watching it. I learnt boxing from my father and uncle. When they were involved in bar fights.
