I was frequently told to report for jury duty.
I always answered "Fine - it's my civic duty; but I must tell you as a matter of interest though that I do not consider myself in a position to judge any other human being so I will always vote NOT GUILTY, no matter what the evidence".

I was never called to serve!

Well, I`ve been called twice and not served, the third time , which is inevitable, I shall accept as long as I am foreman.

A guaranteed reason for my further dismissal or not, but I would go for it, after all, it is susposed to be a cross-section of people.

That said, I think the recent juror caught with an i-pod on ,made no statement whatsoever for anyone except general ignorance.

I cannot envisage a situation where I would find the accused guilty at a trial. If a guilty verdict is seriously beyond all reasonable doubt, I'd imagine the defence would advise their client to plead guilty anyway.

It is the job of the defence to provide the reasonable doubt which any intelligent person would have to consider. Therefore NOT GUILTY.

In any case, what gives me the moral power to punish another human being? Nothing I can think of.
