TOPIC: Masks & vaccines

Masks & vaccines 3 Years, 11 Months ago
Cloth face masks don't do anything. We have forgotten that we have always known this:

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9914969...tter_impression=true

Also, proved beyond doubt last week, vaccination does NOT stop the virus spreading.

Everything we have heard about this for 2 years and every control based on it has been bullshit.

Thankfully, I think most people are (slowly) catching up...

Some cloth masks are a lot better than this. If you have a triple silk with a filter in and can get it tight on your face, fair enough, but really, if you don't have a proper n95 or equivalent, you needn't bother.

But this information has been available right from the start, and we have always known about it.

I will consider any fool that goes along with the vaccination passport farce responsible for whatever follows.

I will go along with it if I have to but am still hoping sense prevails in the end. It would help if the msm started acting responsibly and grilling politicians on what possible purpose they will serve now we know vaccination makes no difference to transmission. I would love to say I would smrestrict my freedoms for a principle; but I am just too selfish in wanting to travel & enjoy my comfortable life.

I'm a fan of vaccines - I think they stop extreme reactions; that's why I've taken the flu vaccine for 15 years. I'm happy to have a mask around my neck to be used when the law tells me I must or when it seems sensible - to reduce risk of catching something by 1%.

I am also a fan of vaccines, and use a protective mask wherever needed, but I cant take part in the passport scam when it makes no difference to transmission, and I don't sign into places that ask you to register.

If it actually made a difference, perhaps, as long as the young people who gave up more than most when they didn't need to, have all been offered both jabs.
I cant believe people are happy to swan in front of them.

I am not an anti-vaxxer I have had lots when travelling to South Africa and Chile. However I don't trust the Covid vaccines. Why take something which has a 97-98 per cent survival rate?

I am dead certain I have had in December 2019. I was very poorly for several weeks but recovered.

My natural defences fought it off like a good immune system should.

I admit I know little ( Shock ! Horror ! ) but I was just reading how the 1919 Spanish Flu killed 50 million and 15,000 in Australia alone- I believe 10,000 in Sydney.. on the other side of the world.

I've seen government adverts from 1919 that basically mirror what is happening in Oz today..lock downs and a fierce mask imposition now even walking in the street. Old newspapers report everyone complied ( no QAnon, social media )

(I find them insufferable at times)

The daily cases in NSW, under 1000 a day are nothing compared to UK.

The measures they took 100 years ago basically mirror what is happening today.

This isn't Rocket Science is it? It's doctors and medical researchers who spend decades learning their craft.

I tend to take notice of them.

I guess Covid is going to be like Influenza (with it's mild and deadly variants) that mutates every year and we'll be getting vaccinated from here until eternity (which may not be so long for moi)

## downside is I'm running out of re-runs of my All Time Favorite quiz show..Tipping Point !

So do I Hedda which is why I have been vaccinated and took sensible precautions over the past two years, and used lateral flow tests when elderly relatives were visiting.

What, though, medical experts have to do with deciding whether to shut the world down - as opposed to understanding how viruses work - is entirely less clear and seems to me to be the province of politicians, who spend little time learning anything other than what The Daily Mail or BBC decide to make something of on any given day.

Not every can have the vaccines. Even the official government website and WHO admit that. Doctors at my local surgery refusing to give the jab whose in poor health or those with deep religious beliefs.

that's odd as my doctor's surgery is like the United Nations of doctors from every corner of the planet. Mandatory masks and vaccines quickly given.

Same same as my last hospital visit for pneumonia with surprisingly quite a few American male nurses who all had that incredibly polite East Coast accent.

## of course vaccines won't cure everything..had a very sore arm after the 2nd jab and had to wait 6 weeks in between for the Flu vaccine.

But we had all these jabs as kids at school..when they actually did hurt !

Yes and us Graduates have comprehensive solutions to everything - unlike the scientists, experts and politicians.

We know lots more than anyone else and hate to be contradicted. Woe betide those who try to provide evidence that we're wrong.

It's a bit of a grey area in a lot of states and parts of the UK I have read. I know people from my daughters church in New York have burnt masks and rejected vaccines. Some members of the church are taking their employers to court for being sacked from their jobs for not having the jab.

The conversations at work in the pubs were always about Covid not it's about Central Asia and the next gig.

Barney you don't know what evidence is, what it should be applied to or how to construct an argument. What's more your comprehension and understanding of written English is limited.

I would, actually, have loved to have debated with someone on here who took the opposite position to me on everything Covid and possessed this skill set; but alas there wasn't anyone.

Don't forget that the politicians, scientists and experts are also influenced by media, so this can promote confirmation bias and general bullshit even from those who are trying their best.

Influenced by their own agenda's also. Like the SAGE woman who wants face masks forever.

I can't see England having another lockdown for Covid but we definitely have one to fix Climate Change 🙄.
