TOPIC: Benefits for employed....

Benefits for employed.... 2 Years, 8 Months ago
Maybe I am simple but I have never understood why we have benefits for those in work - "top up credits". Surely, we need to look at the real problem of why hard working people can't afford to live? How can we allow employers to pay a non-living wage? Rather than asking us all to pay in taxes what profiteers should be taking from their gains?

It would make sense to top up wages while new businesses are finding their way, and probably would save us money in the long run.

The system we have now is just another green light for rich people to take advantage of the poor and keep them in their place - dependant and grateful.

I can understand a wage top up if you really need it. I never understood PIP and ESA, I've heard you need to jump through hoops to get either one.

I never got any type of benefit even when I wasn't working through any of the lockdowns.

because it's all out of whack and gormless politicians ignore reality.

there is enough money to pay for everything.

but tax avoidance is now an industry in itself.

if every British corporation was forced to pay it's fair share as tens of millions of wage earners cannot avoid, Britain would have no debt, a fab NHS and well paid jobs.

One man wanted to change all this.. Jeremy Corbyn. No wonder he had to be got rid of.

This about sums up my thinking on it: when things are made complicated I smell diversion; smoke & mirrors...

Bit like "died with" Covid..but as we get on a lot better outside of those threads I won't expand Hedda...
