Health. 3 Years, 10 Months ago
Every year (or even 6 months) I have check ups - needed when almost 77 and diabetic. But my 4 months swimming in the sunshine seems to have done me a lot of good. My blood is, to quote, "that of a fit 50 year old". A masseuse in Florence told me I have "the body of a 50 year old" though another masseuse said I have the softest skin she's ever known "like a young girl". Wasn't sure if that was a compliment. Just completed my eye test ("absolutely fine"). Likewise hearing - "the same as three years ago". And my teeth? "perfect".

All of which indicates to me a stroke or heart attack within days.

Oh well. Grim Reaper, here you come.

You eat well in addition (and varied) from the "food diary" posts; which I think is essential.

I swear by walking miles a week - and swimming as well; though sadly don't get to do the latter anywhere near as often as you do pool side in Italy & France.

As for you having the skin of a virginal milkmaid; I can't account for that....

Yes I try to keep a sensible diet but, for example, every now and again I have food I know is bad in excess but I think fine in small amounts - enough to satisfy the taste buds and brain and stomach; example - a full English breakfast perhaps once a month.

We are all going to snuff it regardless of lifestyle choices.

Enjoy life, if we're going for another lockdown it's a waste of days.

I exercise and eat well because I enjoy the way exercise makes me feel (physically and mentally) and love good food; not because I am trying to dodge the inevitable! Quality of life now . Another lockdown? My advice: ignore it so far as you can. They require consent. Why consent to stay indoors because Boris wants votes when the panicked millions & the media demand illusory "protection"?

You could have the breakfast as often as you feel like if you just modify it slightly to get rid of the oil and nitrates/nitrites. If you eat out of course, you are a bit stuck.

You would think that everyone would just ignore it, really, only I get the impression that some people cant wait to be locked down again.

No I think that's where I differ Honey; by NOT eating too frequently I'm able to enjoy some things much more with fewer problems. Once a month a full English is fabulous. Every day I'd not only be fat but it would start tasting like sawdust. Even my daily food (avocados) have started to pall and I find two a week to be nicer. I'm sure missing my morning coffee (2 days a week) is a GOOD thing - not just cutting down calories (milk and honey) but, by being replaced by water, I find it tastes better on the 5 days I DO drink it. My 5/2 diet has been adapted to a 5/1/1 diet (i.e. 2 24 hour periods a week water only instead of one 48 hour session).

To be fair to the favourite sandwich show, it might have been very interesting for all I know. It has been repeated several times so somebody must have liked it.

reminds me of a terrible story Mail movie critic Jack Tinker once told a group of us..

1950's actors ERNEST BORGNINE and ETHEL MERMAN married late in life but were fighting like cats and dogs within weeks.

One day Ethel walked in and said to Borgnine "my producer just said I have the legs and body of a 30 year old"

Borgnine responded "did he mention your 50 tear old c**t?"
".
she said "no he didn't mention you at all"
