I missed this earlier this year. Microsoft has patented the technology to bring our deceased loved ones back to "life":

Really not sure what I think about this. My first reaction is psychologically this is immense; but could it bring huge mental health problems?

Also, it seems to challenge the very definitions of what "life" is.

I can't believe more notice hasn't been taken of this. I think when people cotton on the demand and growth of this will be HUGE; just think as technology ever advances where this will go...

I am expecting mass suicides if this launches, some people can't let go off the past.

Yes I think it will catch on big time. If we don't go through the natural grieving process what will this do to us? Also, I wonder if it may lead to devaluing the real - natural life - in many dark, unforseen ways (there is a novel in there!).
