John Lewis. 2 Years, 5 Months ago
Good Lord!
The formerly treasured) song appears to have been recorded by someone in the throes of covid and then played on 33rpm by mistake.

It is the most hideous thing I have ever heard, and I am so bloody traumatised I demand lashings of compo Immediately!

What's the advert ?

I thought John Lewis ran out of money to advertise as they are closing stores.

Is it just me or are 21st century covers of old songs just dreary...?
It is like the collective life has been sucked out of us.

Not having a basic flat screen TV, not connected to any devices apart from a DVD player is pleasant.

No trashy adverts, fake news, crap programmes, edited films to be PC and watered down 70's or 80's shows. Even Are You Being Served ? is now chopped up for US broadcasts.

Why are adverts using cover versions ? Even when adverts were using a melody of a classic and changed the lyrics so they could mention the company brand or deals. I still remember Midlands Bank used Sonny & Cher I Got You Babe tune and had young actors singing about bank interest rates etc. Not forgetting the and the blonde girl singing "Down to 50p".

I remember when ads were sexiest towards men but they are racists and sexiest still towards men. Thank fuck I don't watch traditional TV. Talk about mind control and carefully constructed propaganda or are they subliminally telling us about the "Great replacement"?

If I could think of any possible reason why John Lewis and Marks and Spencer bosses would be deliberately trashing their own companies I would swear that was what they were doing.

Maybe they are risking losing a bit of our demographic honey to reach out to Yooooofs...homely fires and comfy jumpers replaced by electrically dreaming aliens?

There's been a lot worse, from talking reindeers to the ubiquitous and heartbreaking lonely child themes, often involving a cute animal.

Striving to be different often gathers critism whilst innovation, and being different, is welcomed by many of us who have seen a few Christmases.

If you're not drinking from a red cup, playing beer games, smoking big cigars, inviting round strangers from the pub and settling disputes with arm wrestling it's not Christmas.

I love indulging on homemade food especially a buffet at Christmas, I avoid the pre-packaged crap.

They can be as different and innovative as they like as long as it is not accompanied by dead slow and anguished wailing.

There's many a musician who made a fortune, and got awards, for performances which often included those criteria.

Some even added on screaming, deafening volume and dressing bizarrely whilst shouting obscenities at their audiences.

You can dance to trash, doom, death, black, krind-core metal.

Slow and anguish songs are just depressing. Then again the media love to depress the public and pharma-companies get rich with anti-depressants it's why they are handed out like sweets.

I have Ted Nugent bootlegs of him swearing at the audience and the audience insult him then they all laugh about it same with a Twisted Sister bootleg I have.

I think we should go back to all the screaming and obscenity shouting malarkey then, Barney, if this is the alternative...www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1020562...hocked-audience.html
