Franglais....................(and food of course..) 16 Years, 9 Months ago

Much to my surprise I have found after this years visit to the continent, that I have achieved good enough command of the French language to open a conversation up,with the locals.
This has caused it`s own problems, however, as I then get suddenly stuck when the rate of speech and dialect step up a gear.
However, I can read a menu in French, better than I can read a Franglais translation coming from the other side of the channel.(yes , they are learning Franglais too!)
How could I resist a menu that was translated to read.." a duck served in his own garden"..?
But le piece de resistance, (pun intended), came from the wonderful translation of "torte a le aubergine".
Absolutely, excellently and wrongly translated as "ego plant tart".
On a more culturally serious note, isn`t it disturbing to see how many pizza cafe`s there are in France?

Tres chuffed aussi innit!
As on it`s initial release with the album it was on, all royalties still go to charity on that one.
Credit must also go to Si, for his extremely fast rap on that track, which we recorded through a distorting 5 inch speaker which was miked up to get the effect on the voice.
Once I go through them all, and find the web links, I have some very good French music tips to introduce.
Two of the acts we saw particularly blew us away.
Some great venues as well, "ETE 36", in Lion Sur Mere, is a brilliant venue bringing in exciting new music.
Watch out for Des Dencheurs(as I said , hope to find a link soon), absolutely excellent.
We have some film footage I think, I havent been through it all yet.
