BBC Kangaroo Court 2 Years, 5 Months ago
BBC sack man because someone has made an allegation about something he may have said in 2009. No investigation; no trial.

Career over.

There is no patience anymore. Everything - and anyone - is now sacrificed so that organisations avoid any criticism. There is no forgiveness, either, if someone has been found to have erred. No pity. If I was religious I would say nothing holy about our society anymore.

And where can it end? We can't all cancel everyone else out on another's say so no one will be left.

I hope Mr Vaughan takes the BBC to the fucking cleaners....

It doesn't sound to me as if it's necessarily career over with the BBC.

The former England captain, 47, was expected to form part of the team for the series Down Under this winter. ... the BBC said: "While he is involved in a significant story in cricket, for editorial reasons we do not believe that it would be appropriate for Michael Vaughan to have a role in our Ashes team or wider coverage of the sport at the moment.
It sounds as if the door may open for him to return if the significant story blows over. He has apparently denied the allegation.

English cricket has been rocked by revelations of racism from Pakistan-born former Yorkshire player Azeem Rafiq.

These have included an allegation that former England captain Vaughan told the now 30-year-old Rafiq and other Yorkshire players of Asian origin that there were "too many of you lot, we need to do something about it" during a county match in 2009.

Vaughan, an Ashes-winning skipper in 2005, has "categorically denied" the allegation.

...

In a statement issued earlier in November, Vaughan said: "I categorically deny saying the words attributed to me by Azeem Rafiq and want to re-state this publicly because the 'you lot' comment simply never happened.

"It is extremely upsetting that this completely false accusation has been made against me by a former team-mate, apparently supported by two other players.

"I have been in contact with the six other players from that team and not one of them has any recollection of the remark being made," he added.

Maybe I am too cynical Jo but even if the BBC took him back after the ashes tour it would take one Twitter campaign by the woke mob and they would drop him again rather than take that on...

Twitter mobs always win. People are scared off a tiny minority of Twatters.
