TOPIC: World Aids Day
#215763
World Aids Day 3 Years, 8 Months ago
One of the many reasons I so condemned the media hype of the stupid, trivial Covid panic was that it quietly demeaned the far nastier and more lethal AIDS pandemic. I lost several friends to Aids. It was a serious, vicious and usually lethal virus. Covid is not. And just as stupid Brexit concealed a minority of racists, the lack of AIDS concern concealed homophobia. Likewise the media (traditional and social) is happy to reflect the loud, nasty racist or homophobic minority of human beings (many of whom end up struck by Mistress Karma, as do the exponents of the False Allegations Industry).

Spot on !!

You should write to Sajid Javid about this. AIDS is rampant in many African countries and they go on about the Moronic variant. Which has been reported to be a mild virus.

Yes we forget what a scary time back then it was and the gay community in particular must have suffered dreadfully. It is so positive now, though: people living and thriving with the condition for many decades.

I remember when Magic Johnson admitted he had the virus. That was a good 30 years ago.

Magic is not gay but when with tons of women in the 1980's.

Sadly I lost my copy Wyot otherwise I would of forwarded to you he is very open in the book; this is a great book and Magic was terrific basketball player.
