It is now clear than Moronic is as infectious but far less nasty than the Common Cold. Even the current Delta covid variant (around 50-70,000 new cases a day in November) is killing nobody (43 "with" it 28 days before death in UK today). Can someone explain why everyone is having a panic?

because no-one predicted Omicron would suddenly appear so soon and no-one knows whether there is another more vicious virus waiting to unfold?

This has happened throughout history..viruses and plagues have come along when the population was far less and has wiped out far more people than Covid despite it giving the others a good run for their money.

One big difference is now e have elected governments who can be voted out depending on their reactions to any crisis.
