Really loving this; Freeman is quite superb (I love Scousers - well, all of us 60s music kids do) but three great ladies in it too; Rita Tushingham (we remember her from the 60s) as his Mum; Rachel his partner and Casey the little druggie girl (wonderful). Some great Scouse humour, attitudes and one liners. Why is Liverpool so unusual? I think it's the Irish factor.

Well I thought this was fabulous; not just because Martin Freeman (dead cert BAFTA) was great; not just because of a great script and terrific acting by the whole cast but because it is so rare to see anything complex. Life is complex. It is NOT simple. All TV, all films are simple these days. This series was not, right up to the end. It is complicated, difficult.

Special mentions for Emily Fairn and Josh Finan who were utterly brilliant and damn near stole the show.
