Well the facts are that I know nothing about these allegations; like you, no more than the media has reported. But I do know the facts that he is innocent unless and until found guilty in a court of law (and sometimes even after - as in my 2001 case). I also know that before PR Max Clifford got into accusing pop stars of sex abuse he made his millions from false accusers of footballers. Where there is money...

Now released on bail so any comment must be avoided. But let me just talk in general terms. From over 20 years ago, thanks to the excellent PR Max Clifford, it was discovered that TRAWL BY MEDIA was a very effective way to get convictions by the police and CPS. Regardless of the facts, a gruesome, massive media campaign (always guaranteed if the victim was a celebrity or wealthy) provoked a mass of extra false accusers to emerge from woodwork. Some people who had never even met the accused (I witnessed several of these when I was in prison, pouring over local newspapers, making further claims, getting compensation and special treatment as "victims", poor souls). Others who were willing to "back up" accusers for a small gift. Media prepared to give large sums for "exclusive" interviews with sobbing "victims" if there was a conviction (check out Max Clifford and the News of the World). Bent lawyers eager for a piece of any compensation pie.

Bear all that in mind.
