Boris Johnson - a great character? 3 Years, 5 Months ago
The BBC - like everyone else - admits Boris is a great character and attributes his 80 seat majority to that. I've never met him but have met his sister (who is a delight). I suspect Boris would be a great dinner guest and a good friend. But he didn't win that 80 seat majority. STUPID Lib Dems (I can't even remember the stupid woman leader who predicted she'd be PM) and STUPID Corbyn advisers (telling him No Deal) LOST that election. If they had done the obvious, sensible thing of standing as the anti-Brexit coalition, with Corbyn as Labour leader and the Lib Dem bint as Deputy PM, with all Lib Dem candidates standing down in seats where Labour was second (or a credible third) and Labour standing down in all seats where Lib Dems were second, we'd have a Corbyn premiership, no stupid Brexit and thousands still alive after Covid. DOH!!!

funny you say that because I think the complete opposite..I reckon Boris is a crashing bore.

## Watched his sister only last night on a show and yes I think she might be fun.

But Boris seems like his father who is certainly someone I'd cross the road to avoid.

And remember I hated Maggie Thatcher and all she stood for but I would have loved to have dinner with her.

All my old pals were old Tories. I adored Sir John Norman Stevis ! I mean why wouldn't when he invites you to a cocktail party for The Village People at the House of Commons .

But Boris..ghastly..I reckon he would be tiresome to have dinner with.

His election just sums up today's alleged Tories and ghastly middle class nouveau riche and even worse..workjing class Tories.

# Someone said the other day that I'm a snob. So rude.

The principal reason why Boris so easily won the election was his realisation that the electorate was so tired of Brexit.

And making 'Get Brexit Done' as his main campaign slogan. Everyone unconsciously responded - yes let's, when writing X.

I'm sure there was an element of that but the shameless portrayal of Corbyn by the mainstream media was probably as powerful a factor.

He was already popular before that. He was the mayor for ever, for goodness sake. As for the election, when the opposition is accused of racism, it is bound to give you a boost.
