I shall be watching tonight as usual as I love some sunshine and beaches in my home. But the scripts really have declined as have the lead - Ben Miller was far and away the best, though Ralph Little is quite good too. We know there will be an impossible murder that only Jonathan Creek could solve which Ralph will solve at the end in front of the all "star" cast.
I stopped when Ben Miller left (and then that gorgeous woman who played his sidekick). I can see why they kept going - it was cosy like Midsomer but also had lots of sunny scenery - but you couldn't really set up a situation like that and then bring in another quirky fish out of water character (let alone the god knows how many characters they've since introduced). Back in he day at least a few people on the production team would actually have worried about that sort of thing, but now audiences are regarded as so pathetic that they just keep being given this tosh without a second thought.
