Because the PanicDemic started news TV outlets accepting interviews with people at home on their own computers (Zoom etc), it has now become standard (and far cheaper than sending teams out). Whilst this has the enormous advantage of not finding Victoria Derbyshire standing on your doorstep, it also means that almost every interview is interrupted by the PING or PONG of their E-Mail cropping up throughout. This is REALLY annoying when it reflects ones own E-Mail sound. Reminds me of the days when phones used to ring during live interviews and one turned ones sound down and answered ones own phone, only to hear a dial tone.

I don't understand why they don't do live phone ins. Zoom and Skype have shit sound and picture quality.

When a talking head in the studio has issues hearing the person on Zoom. He or she has to repeat and then have to cut the interview short due to time.

US courts are still using Zoom in minor cases. I predict this will continue long after Covid and corporations will dive into "work from home" to save costs..probably have to tag people.

I had use to use Zoom during lockdowns. It finally came to point I had to make long distance calls to USA.

I wonder if I can bill Boris Johnson?

And of course now the dead cert ratings/readers boosts of Brexit/Covid/Andrew have faded, Editors return to sex abuse (now in Italy). One wonders when a canny hack will spot the hole in the market - how many false accusers in each claim? That will, of course, then take over and we'll be facing months of rants about those trying to get millions in compensation or blackmail. "Pay us thousands or we'll go to police who will, globally, believe us". Real v victims will feel unable to come forward and we're back to the bad old days. The merry go round continues.
