Yes but a lot nicer and wiser words than Trump...

my theory is those who are basically telling the truth have the hardest time telling it.

Contrast with orators like Ronald Reagan..good speech maker but also a trained actor who could comfortably reel off whatever was in front of him.

Or Donald Trump..a pathological liar and narcissist who can reel off sentences seemlessly because he can shame faced lie without a scintilla of a problem...lies that he can actually contradict the next day.

And he gets away with it !! (well he used to)

remember Joe Biden had to overcome stuttering.. I see signs of it very similar to a friend who conquered stuttering but nonetheless appears so often to be hesitant with his speech.

I do think Hedda has a point; this is the era of good communicators and may explain why, whilst hating most of his behaviour, I sense an affinity with Trump. Nowhere near as morally decent as Biden but far better at speaking. Image is all. Ditto Boris vs Keir (or Corbyn). Ditto Paddington Bear in Ukraine. Without his training in communication the man would never have got a standing ovation in the Commons. But might a lesser communicator/better strategist have avoided the current Russian invasion? I think, as opposed to blaming Putin (media cannot cope with the theory that others may also run Russia - too complex), we should wonder whether a better leader might have sorted the problems in Ukraine years ago - by allowing those two regions independence or even secession?

We don't really know who is decent or not, because we only have the media giving us an edited version, but Joe Biden gives me the creeps.
