No thoroughly ashamed. Total respect to countries such as Poland who, unlike us aren't quibbling and dissembling about taking in Ukranian refugees. Our Government brings shame on us. Better to ensure the safety of all of them, particularly the most vulnerable who would not have a chance of leaving the country. Much is happening behind the scenes, and in this highly acute scenario, the less said the better the better. Editors have daily communications with the No 10 machine (just like in WWII). Propaganda and false information are even more powerful now, when the internet instantaneously shows statements and allegations. Causing confusion and distraction.

They're making it easier (for themselves) by allowing refugees to apply online.

UK to ease entry requirements for Ukrainian refugees, says Priti Patel

"Change means people with passports can apply for entry online and do not have to give biometric details until they are in UK"

Anger and exhaustion as Ukrainians turned away by UK in Calais

"Hundreds have had to pause their gruelling journey while they work out how to get visas"
