My coverage of Ukraine would be totally different. YES - Russia should not have invaded. YES - there is no excuse for the (very limited) violence and (tiny) death toll but YES - Ukraine has handled the 8 year civil war atrociously badly and are now behaving disgracefully by not seceding those two provinces for independence. Paddington Bear may be a good communicator but he's an abominable leader and the West should NOT be supporting him though we should be helping those fleeing refugees just as we should be helping Rohingya and Yemenis who sadly don't have the same media attention (not as good a story).

I couldn't help smiling as I read Barney's post earlier at Terminal 5 Heathrow following a fabulous long weekend away. I can only assume that Barney had a less interesting weekend...

I do agree that the deifying of the Ukranian leader is silly and irresponsible. If I were running the media I would additionally not be talking about nuclear capabilities all the time. All just lurid speculation,not news.
