TOPIC: Bohemian Rhapsody

Bohemian Rhapsody 3 Years, 4 Months ago
Managed to avoid Comic Sports Children in Need or whatever tonight was by rewatching this; I really loved it first time (critics hated it) just as I hated Rocketman which critics loved. My reason is because this really celebrates the wonderful music of Queen whereas Elton's film was all whining and misery and avoided the great music he's made. My only thought in BoRhap is they should have used Freddie's solo version of The Great Pretender over much of the Munich footage. Then it would have been perfect. But great acting by the guy who played Freddie (and the one who played Roger Taylor too).

I could not watch more than 15 mins of Rocketman.

I can't get in to Bohemian Rhapsody maybe because I am not a Queen fan or just found it slow.

If there's a KISS biopic (spoiler) it's always someone else's fault. I have read all 4 autobiographies by the band and there's always to blame.

I wish Queen wouldn't licence their music to so many ads. It's tacky. How much badger food does Brian May need, for heaven's sake?

I didn't like the Elton film but loved the Queen pic (music of course is sensational)

Charles Pooter moment: as a waiter at the opening of a new cabaret restaurant in Camden Lock I spilled a tray of drinks over Freddie Mercury and Margaret Trudeau. Freddie was delightful and helped me mop up.

Tale made the front pages the next day and restaurant owner was delighted .
Didn't give me a raise though.

Never been into Queen. Never liked the flash Gordon theme at all, even in the film. Works much better as an ad for flash cleaning products though.

I’m rather with Jeremy Clark’s Son on Queen… I only really liked their Rocky early circa Seven Seas Of Rhye but I’d suggest you have a listen to this on multi directional sound. That means headphones too… I haven’t heard it yet but have been very impressed by proper rock music on 8D and 12D (by which I of course mean TOOL).

I agree ! I found the Flash theme song very cringe even back then and I still do.

I do like their music on Highlander though.
