The new trend in world leaders (only the media matters) has gone into overtime, like everything else. Now the Trump/Boris approach (exaggerate everything; provide headlines; speak in extreme but catchy slogans) has taken over and I find it shocking. From demanding regime change in other countries (where where leaders telling the UK that Brexit would be a serious mistake - not so much leaving the EU but the change in mid race) to hints that assassination should be recommended, this just illustrates how mad humanity has become.

I think Trump is the major factor in how low the tone has sunk.
I don't blame Trump; he was just the dull vulgarian who showed us how vacuous we have become, and set the template for public life that is all to easy to follow; with the media the pied-piper egging us on...
If it wasn't Trump it would have been some other pathetic failure of humanity holding a mirror up to us...

Trump was the culmination of a long time underlying problem where propaganda and millions of thickos came together to elevate the USA's own Chauncey Gardner.

No. Trump succeeded because too many people felt the Washington Establishment had failed. That was the lesson from which the Democrats - in fact, all of the elites - should have learned. But they didn't learn anything from it. They just spent all their time trying to use the courts to get the intruder out. And when that failed, they kept a washed-out and washed-up time-server hidden away until election day. That's the great disgrace. And it's why even now Trump has so much support. They will not listen, they will not reflect, they will not change. It's a corrupt system run by out-of-touch entitled elites. Biden - that's the best that they could get? What a testament to their arrogance.

Out of touch elites can lead to a Trump but not necessarily. He could have implemented populist policies - in contrast, perhaps, to "out of touch elites" - but without the bile and lies.
It is sloppy thinking to say he was the necessary rather than possible result of "out of touch" elites. Though we hear this all the time as a tiresome standard narrative...
