I've enjoyed this and have now also watched the finale (on TV next Sunday) - I thought Joe Cole was very good and Tom Hollander is rapidly becoming a National Treasure. But this ITV series has virtually nothing to do with the book or the Michael Caine movie. In fact, after watching the ITV 6 shows I watched the original film (thank God for Amazon rentals). Which is far, far better. Enjoy both but do see the movie if you haven't. 1965! I was 20.
I agree mainly. Seen 4 episodes and there are elements of both Ipcress and Funeral in Berlin books and films.
This series has been excellent, but the Caine films are better.
