Quite magnificent - The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp 17 Years, 8 Months ago
The script is stunning.
Oh yes, it's all a bit cardboard and over the top acting now. But a film to be proud of and a highly intelligent story. Multi faceted characters; unexpected twists; film makers today should be ashamed of themselves.

Oh Jonathan....you have hit my favourite topic. The films of Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger. A Matter of Life and Death is my all time favourite movie, despite it being an obvious product for the US market...it is wonderful as is Blimp! My favourite scene involves David Niven and a young naked boy upon a deserted beach (no I'm not a vile pervert)...wonderful!
