TOPIC: Trump and gun control
#221749
Trump and gun control 3 Years, 2 Months ago
I'm no fan of Trump and think there should be strict gun control in the USA as there is here, but Trump's speech was sensible and correct, as he sees it. Yet media mock him. Why? Because they think the majority of their viewers/readers feel the way they think I do and pander to those who buy, watch, listen. Media wants a good story.
Yet again, the middle route is the correct one. Stricter controls on who bears arms, intelligently implemented. NOT a total ban. Better enforcement.

Example - NOT all teachers carry guns but ALL SCHOOLS and Unis must have proper security with guards carrying guns, policing at all times. If as a society you are going to allow guns, you must equally protect people. Not all priests, vicars, churches should be led by gun carrying holy men, but all must be 100% protected 24/7.

The media have no clue on gun laws. Sky News were dissing the NRA but they didn't mention that NRA members are from all walks of life and law abiding. If Salvador Ramos didn't have a gun he would of gone on a knife rampage or used a car.

Trump, did ban bump stocks ! ( I never saw the point of them). Gun ranges don't allow auto-fire or rapid firing under 3 secs. Fully automatic guns are banned !

The media don't mention Gun Owners of America, they wouldn't dare mention the Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership and Second Amendment Sisters. Second Amendment Sisters wants to protect women and the media would be scared to slander the group.

Now there is the Socialist Rifle Association

Remember Paris a while ago where the nutters had AK-47's ? They are banned in France but they still got them to use unlawfully to kill innocent people. Chicago, Portland, New York have very high strict gun laws, there is shootings there normally gang-related and black on black (Where's the media and BLM ?)

I have been to numerous gun shows in USA with friends and never saw any problems nor people buying stuff illegall; the gun sellers have to do bankground check there and check state ID, driver's licence. Even if you have a passport and no driver's licence you would find it hard to buy a gun.

Why do the media call AR-15 a weapon a war an assault rifle ? When it's used for hunting which is an American pastime and many Americans live off the land or grid. If the AR-15 came in bright baby pink and pictures of flowers or butterflies would they still moan about it ?

www.19fortyfive.com/2021/02/the-ar-15-is...-it-a-weapon-of-war/

JK, criminals will get guns illegally no matter what. There is an open border in USA now !
I still can't believe the police didn't go the school and Ramos was taken out by Border Control.

You see I actually agree with Trump in that there should be security people, totally trained and vetted, in every school and church in America, with lethal weapons, 24/7. But they should not be teachers or priests. Actually, what greater use for the military? We really don't need soldiers these days for international duties.

Go further than Trump.

There should be a totally new industry of security people, totally trained and vetted (no loonies like before), including military, marines, and air-force personnel, not needed now in other peoples' countries.

A new industry in every American preschool play group, elementary and high schools, colleges, universities, religious centers, local parks, hospitals, public buildings, public and private beaches, shopping malls, filling stations, cinemas, media organisations, entertainments, and sports events..plus er, The Capitol!

So that total seige mentality America, with lethal weapons everywhere 24/7 can finally relax.

Ramos, even posted on social media what his plans were why didn't they notify the police ? If you post something about Hunter Biden and his famous laptop you can have your account banned.

Why didn't the police go the school instead let Ramos carry on shooting, whilst parents were forced to wait outside and some wanted to go in a try out Ramos.

Some people are not fit for the uniform/badge especially cowards.

no Trump's notion of making schools safe as moronic is as Ted Cruz's, the NRA and the entire Republican dangerous nitwits.

And I'll tell you why and it should be fucking obvious (excuse language).

Sure..you can put heavy steel doors on school rooms with heavy locks.

You could arm teachers with sub machine guns or even hand grenades (teach 'em to shoot & throw) and have metal detectors at school gates..

I'm sure there are a dozen other High Security measures that could be implemented..just get a few clues form high security jails.

But what about those 100s of kids as they arrive at school and flock in as a unruly mob as is their wont?

Or when they rush out at day's end in the 100s looking for their bus or their mum?

How in the Hell do you protect them then?

Answers please !..you must have them if a fuckwit like Trump can come up with his simplistic ideas (by the way.. nice little dance he did on stage after announcing 19 dead children's names)

What about Sport's Day when there 100s of kids on a field?

How are you going to protect them? Surround the oval with tanks?

What about the Swimming Carnival ?
What about the Day Out for a class?
What about those kids that congregate at a Fun Fair or the local Mall?

Armed snipers in turrets?

To make the idiotic claim Trump has a solution is mind bo0ggling stupid.

If a person is intent on mass murder..and can walk in a shop and buy a mass killing machine as easy as pie do you think they will think.. "duhhh..school all locked up so I can't kill kids today".

Nothing can take away the fact it is the guns that kill and there are more guns than people in the USA.

WHAT ABOUT THAT ROCK CONCERT WHERE 1000S OF TEENAGERS GATHER ( Manchester Arena?)

Of course you lock down a venue, a school a whatever..but people ( and children) enter and exit those venues. They are a target.

Someone intent on killing is not going to be stopped because the school is all locked up..they could pick kids off while they are outside.

Remember Richard Speck with a sniper rifle shooting people from a tower?

The most mindless solutions are being offered up and they are all balderdash because they ignore the fact ..especially with children..they do not spend their entire lives inside a classroom waiting to be attacked..they walk in groups to school..they travel on buses by the dozen and they can be murdered at any time with
semi automatic rifles by an 18 year old.

I don't think we'll ever stop the loonies but we may slightly lessen the risk.

no it's a ridiculous idea and does not attack the root cause of mass murders. It may in fact cause a person intent of mass murder to pick a larger target than one school room..a baseball game with 100s of kids watching.

# I do admit I have no idea of the solution.

Better parenting, schools need to do more for bullies and those who are bullied.

My Father and Uncle got me in to guns from a young age. They took the curiosity away, they had all their guns laid out on the lawn. They went through all the in's and out's of each gun. I had gun saftey drilled in to me so did my sisters. Then we was giving a toy gun each.

My Father and Uncle wanted me to see how we would handle them and if pointed them at another person by accident. We were yelled and got screamed at !

This before we could handle a real and an empty gun. it took a few weeks to get used to the actions and They wanted to me know they are nothing special. The responsibility of them is boring and tedious, I was told they are tools and like any tool can be dangerous.

I used to join them their hunts, but at first I was doing was carrying their outdoor supplies. They wouldn't let me fire gun until I mastered the handling a gun properly. Once I mastered that it was knowing to do clean them and taken them apart and put them together then it was loading then firing them at targets. Again all tedious and boring but essential.

I have been to numerous gun shows, conventions and been a honorary member for a gun club in USA. Despite not having a gun permit in USA, I have fired them with strict supervision with friends and clubs. I even met a very young Alex Jones and he was nothing but a polite and friendly gentleman towards me.

Stewards know he was very acting odd, who takes backpacks to gigs for fuck sake ? Again nothing was said they didn't want to say nothing or do nothing in the fear was being called 'racist'. Even was said then it might of been a different story.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-54695580

Again he was on the police watchlist but again the police did nothing.

Many American's collect guns like people collect stamps and coins. Majority of gun owners are law abiding. We get it you don't fire arms.
