Before the new King (I try to read all that come out) I read this novella - very early King; a bit too much terror and horror and not enough depth and humour which fortunately have grown with maturity.
Interesting - like Jerusalem which was acclaimed as genius when it opened decades ago but now looks less good, I find that as times change so does the quality of many older works. As comparison, the wonderful Charles Dickens remains topical centuries after the hard times have altered. A Tale Of Two Cities is as good today as it was then.
