How has it become ok to make revolting accusations based on rumours against men?

What a horrible thing to say.

Spreading rumour and false allegations are in the same category. To damage another person, or just for fun.

About 85 years ago, a humorous episode caused havoc in the US. The Wells/Welles (HG/Orson) radio program.

'War of the Worlds' had people actually believing the Martians were landing - with thousands leaving their homes.

Unfortunately too many of us still believe
what we read, hear and see in the media. We're so easily convinced.

Yes, we do tend to remember and believe the first thing we hear, even after it has been proven false.
