TOPIC: Boris - the subtext.
#223242
Boris - the subtext. 2 Years, 11 Months ago
I shall not be making any serious decisions - I am merely a caretaker - with the exception that I shall call a General Election just before the Tories choose a new Leader; that'll screw them, the bastards.

Other interesting rumours are that he is staying on as he & Carrie have planned a lavish wedding at Chequers over the summer and he does not want his reign to be briefer than Teresa May's.

You are right he is dangerous - Tories mad to let him plan and scheme over the next few weeks! He is planning a raft of policies as well, it is said.

Funnily enough all the things being touted as GREAT in Boris are, I think, the disasters - Brexit; Covid; landslide election victory over a far more decent, honest and honourable man. And all the reasons he's gone - having a small drink at a work gathering; not firing someone for trying it on with a silly queen in a private club - were, I thought, trivial and unimportant.

I wish stupid media commentators would ask - or answer - the questions I would ask. Example; is Boris Johnson allowed to stand for election as Tory leader after resigning? I bet many more than 8 would put him on the first list.I bet he'd be in the final 2. I bet he'd win the party membership vote.

But nobody in media even ask the question. Like ghastly Victoria Derbyshire they simply blather on with the usual boring, stupid stories.

He fucked up with Covid. "Two weeks to flatten the curve" more like 2 lost years and people under house arrest. I still see a handful of silly people in masks and badly worn out ones at that. Yet BJ and Keir had their own parties, I am sure the plods had a tipple when handing out the questionaires to those 2.
